It is with
great regret and sorrow that I must notify you of the death of our classmate,
Bob Steege, on August 29, 2023, in Loudon, TN, after a long battle with
Parkinson’s Disease.
Bob is survived
by his wife, Suzie; their son, Jeffrey and his wife Kathy; their daughter,
Kimberley Epple and her husband Todd; and their grandsons, Luke and Layne Epple.
He was predeceased by their son, Kyle.
A Celebration
of Life will be held on Sunday, September 17, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at The
Community Church at Tellico Village, 130 Chota Center, Loudon, TN 37774. The
family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Robert J. (Bob) Steege
October 26, 1938 - August 29, 2023
Robert James “Bob” Steege, 84, of the Tellico Village Community
in Loudon, Tennessee passed away August 29, 2023, after a long battle with
Parkinson’s Disease.
He was born October 26, 1938, in Clarence, Iowa to Raymond and Marjorie Steege.
Bob graduated salutatorian from Clarence High School in 1956.
Bob attended Iowa State while waiting for his Congressional Appointment to
attend the US Military Academy at West Point. He graduated from West Point in
1961 as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army. Bob received an MBA at Stanford University
School of Business in 1967. His 20-year career in the military included
assignments in Hawaii, California, Vietnam, Virginia (Pentagon), New York (West
Point), Germany, and finally retiring in Indiana as a Lieutenant Colonel in
1981.
Soon after retirement, Bob began working as a financial advisor for Dean Witter
Reynolds in Indianapolis, retiring again in 1997. He and his wife Suzanne
(Carey) “Suzie” were married 62 years and moved to Tellico Village in 1998.
Bob was a former member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, and Shriners in
Indianapolis. He was a member of The Community Church at Tellico Village. Bob
enjoyed playing golf, handball, racquetball, hiking, cards with friends, and the
Walk and Talk Club. He also enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and
friends. His untimely wit would keep everyone laughing.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Marjorie Steege and his
son, Kyle Steege.
Survivors include his wife, Suzanne Steege; son, Jeffrey (Kathy) Steege of
Windermere, Florida; daughter, Kimberley (Todd) Epple of Carmel, Indiana;
grandsons, Luke and Layne Epple; sister, JoAnn Wenndt; several nieces and
nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 17, 2023, at 1:00 p.m.
at The Community Church at Tellico Village. The family will receive friends
immediately following the service.
